Free to Make Bold Moves without Permission

Centuries ago, a wise man wrote, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1.

Life happens! I know from experience. There comes a time when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. But when you refocus and think about all the powerful Black women who came before you, you can ignite an inner strength that was found in women like Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Coretta Scott King, Mae Jemison, Toni Morrison, and Kara Walker, to name a few.

That inner strength is not always loud and boisterous, but may be a thought or a soft, stirring whisper saying, “There’s more for me than this in this season. I was born for such a time as this.”

Black woman, your time is now. However, the question is, will you rise in power and explore possibilities despite barriers that impede progress?

The focus of July is national freedom. But what about personal freedom? What about not just a national celebration, but a personal call to celebrate Black women 40+? So, what if this month, instead of watching fireworks outside, you light a flame of hope inside? Activate your inner strength through the power of your own voice?

You have permission to arise, make bold moves, pivot, and declare boldly, “It’s my time to break free from who I’ve had to be and step into who I was born to be.”

Have you written your plans? Journaled your goals? Well, it’s time to speak life over them.

“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning.” — Maya Angelou.

Consider Maya’s quote and let your voice infuse your words with deeper meaning to activate the power within.

  • Affirm your identity beyond routine roles and responsibilities.

  • Boldly declare your vision aloud until your ears catch fire with faith.

  • Claim your freedom to move forward and be unstoppable.

This month don’t just celebrate liberty — live it. Let your voice be the revolution that sets your next chapter in motion to explore possibilities with boldness.

Yet, boldness isn’t reckless — it’s rooted until it’s realized. It flows from clarity, courage and hope. And it leads to freedom and power, the kind that lets you live free from fear, people-pleasing, and false timelines.

Power is not behind you, it is within you, and possibility is ahead of you!

Nah, Sister, you haven’t missed your moment. In fact, your power may just now be awakening and pushing you to move forward with purpose and boldness. Freedom isn’t just a celebration, it’s a mindset. It’s a movement. It’s a lifestyle. Go ahead! Make bold moves without the permission of others. You are free.
