Tips on How to Achieve the Viral TikTok “Cold Girl Makeup” Look

TikTok Makeup

If there is one thing the beauty community has been loving over recent past years, it is blush. Recently, TikTok creators have been continuing to amplify the love of blush with the “cold girl look”. Originally created by artist Zoe Kim Kenealy, the look and the hashtag #coldgirlmakeup has garnered over 77 million views on TikTok with creators creating their own version. This look channels the cute rosy cheek and sparkly effect you would get coming in from a cold snowy day without having to brave the winter elements. Sign me up!

After binging many TikTok videos and testing different ways to create the look on myself, I will share my favorite tips on how to achieve the trending “Cold Girl Look”.

What you’ll need

  • A cool toned rosy blush

  • Highlighter

  • Silver glitter (optional)

  • Red lip tint

  • Clear lip gloss

The real key in nailing this look is the placement of your blush. Place it on the apples of your cheeks and on the bridge of your nose creating a W shape across your face. I also like to add a little bit of blush on my chin.

Then take your highlighter/glitter and place it on some focal points of your face. This includes the inner corner of your eyes, under the brow bone, under your lower lash line and the tip of the nose.

Finally place a lip tint in the center of your lips and blend it outwards. This will create the chapped lips effect (but in a cute way, I promise). You can also top it off with a shiny clear gloss!

You can recreate the cold girl makeup with any blush, highlighter and lip gloss you already have in your collection, but here are some recommendations that I have been loving, both high end and affordable!

High End

  • Benefit cookie highlighter

  • Rare Beauty Blush in Grace

  • Makeup by Mario Blush in poppy pink

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Glass Slipper

Affordable

  • e.l.f. putty blush in Bora Bora

  • Juvia’s Place Blush Duo in Vol 4

  • e.l.f. Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in Disco Queen

  • Ulta Beauty Weightless Water Lip Stain in Cherry Pie

  • Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Pearl

Create your own cold girl makeup look and enjoy embracing your inner ice queen this winter season!
