The Beauty of Starting Over
We’ve all experienced turning points — moments in our life journey when a significant change happens (Hutchison, 2019). Whether it’s a divorce, a relocation, or stepping into a new role, these moments often mean we are starting over.
The challenge is that many of us never imagined having to start over, nor did we want to. We were comfortable with what we knew, where we were, and how life was unfolding.
But sometimes, we are pushed into the unknown — a space we often fear. And understandably so. For a time, starting over can feel like a disappointment or failure. It’s okay to feel that. It’s okay to grieve the loss of what was.
What’s important is choosing what perspective we hold on to.
If we only see it as a tragedy, disappointment, or loss, we may miss the beauty: the opportunity for growth, healing, love, peace, and success. We risk hiding the new version of ourselves that is longing to emerge. We could miss the blessings God wants to unveil.
So, how will you embrace starting over?
Will you view it as an invitation — a sacred opportunity to rise with courage, faith, and the unshakable belief that you are meant to thrive right where you are?
Starting over is not your ending.
It’s your invitation to rise, to reclaim, and to rebuild.
And you are more than ready.
