The Beauty in Transformation
With awareness, you can feel when you are in a transformational period of life. Transformational periods of life can be beautiful, difficult, joyful, confusing, scary, or filled with anticipation. Transformational periods can even be dark, exhausting, or feel like a pressing — much like the process of making a diamond.
Wherever you are on your journey, it’s important to take a moment to pause and appreciate the progress you’ve made. Every experience matters and is a part of your unique story. The beauty of transformation is not just in the results but in the journey. Too often we wait until we can look back on our lives to see.
Don’t miss the beauty in transformational periods of life.
Stay Grounded with meditation
Give yourself permission to slow down and meditate. Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and BE. Let go of any pressure to “fix” or “achieve” and allow yourself to be fully present in the moment. It can be challenging to remember to hold space for yourself when you're working to reach the next milestone on your journey. However, taking good care of yourself is exactly what you need to grow. This time of stillness can help you deepen your awareness and gain clarity on your path forward.
Wherever you are, be all there
Sometimes we are so filled with anticipation for our next season that we may forget to stay present and be grateful for where we are. We get consumed with our next focus, the next thing on the to-do list, or the next phase of life. We forget to stay present and see the small moments that matter most. Making time to be present allows you to see yourself in your fullness.
Trust in your life’s unfolding
When you decide to go deep into your healing you often don't see the power of your many small steps and daily actions. We underestimate the work that we have done in and around us over time. But, there comes a time when all of the work that you have been putting in becomes apparent and undeniable. This is not a time for self-doubt, criticism, comparison, or rushing your process. This is where people begin to try to control outcomes and that never works out in your favor. You must trust in your life’s unfolding. Everything is happening in perfect timing. You have to be open to receiving what is for you.
Your progress is more than your career goals
Your transformation can also be seen in the ways that you respond to situations; your increased ability to keep the promises that you make to yourself, the way that you allow yourself to be supported, and the way that you handle people who mistreat you now. Your progress can be seen in how you are more comfortable putting your needs first or the growth in opportunities that you have believed for. Be proud of ALL the ways that you are growing. Don’t focus only on career markers to gauge success.
Document it all
Remember, the beauty of transformation is not just in the results, but in the journey. You will look back on each moment and realize that it is in these transformational periods that you have grown, healed from experiences, and actualized a deeper understanding of yourself and those around you. Some people will even create the best work of their lives during seasons of transformation. Document your life during transformational periods. No matter what your feelings are at the moment or how your hair looks — take the pictures. Document it all. Journal and date the pages. You will want to remember these very moments one day.
Transformation is a part of living life. Anything that is not changing is NOT changing. Life can force changes to be made or you can surrender to the process and be transformed. Use everything that comes with your experiences to fuel your evolution. The journey can be just as beautiful as the results if you allow it. It’s all about perspective. Use these tips to make sure you don’t miss the beauty in your transformation.
