Internal Health that Produces a Strong Comeback
Working to appear together based on society's standards is something you can easily get caught up in without acknowledging that internal work is just as important, if not more than the outer appearance.
Life can take you through many changes that can affect you, and if you aren’t honest with where you are, you will get caught up in a cycle that may yield external fruit but leave you nearly depleted internally. This is why doing internal work should be a priority.
I recently went through some major changes that required emotional decisions for my mental and emotional health. The decision was not an easy one, but it was needed for me to get back to myself. So, I am saying to you, sometimes you will have to make tough decisions about walking away or establishing boundaries for your well-being. What we sometimes deem as a loss is not; it’s a path to set you up for gain. This is why stepping back and having an honest assessment of how you feel, where you are, and your internal health is important. This may look different to you than it is for others, but the end goal is internal health.
If needed, I would also encourage you to find a qualified therapist who can address your issues. Going to therapy is not a sign of weakness or insanity, but it is a sign of strength because it takes courage to talk with a stranger about your traumas or concerns.
If you don’t already, set aside quiet time with just you and God. Talk to Him like you would talk to your best friend; He is trustworthy. Let it all out.
Explore you. Find out what it is you like and dislike and be okay with saying no to things that harm your peace and internal health.
Get away from the noise and the busyness of life. Set aside time, if you can, to take a vacation and try not to feel guilty about doing so.
Stepping away from it all for a period to work on, you can only produce a stronger comeback with clarity of mind and sharp vision of what you are purposed to do on this journey called life.
