Healing at Your Own Pace
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.” ~ Jeremiah 30:17
Even though the journey to healing looks different for everyone, the end goal is the same. Proper healing isn’t measured by pace or the standards of others, but rather by results, change in perspective, actions, and peace.
Reflecting and taking a personal inventory of where you are can sometimes get lost in the hustle of everyday life, but taking this inventory and being honest with yourself is the first necessary step forward if you are on the path to healing.
You might ask, “Healing? I don’t feel sick, I look fine.” But needing healing oftentimes isn’t always visible to the naked eye. How are you mentally? How are you spiritually? How are you emotionally? Do you feel like yourself?
Whatever the case, I want to encourage you to do the work and embrace all that it entails because taking the journey to healing doesn’t always feel good, especially when it reveals ugly truths about things within you or personal behaviors that need to change.
However, the results outweigh those moments. Remember, pace yourself and focus on your own journey and how that might look. Also, try not to be hard on yourself by giving yourself grace. Give yourself room to stumble, to feel, to question, but whatever you do, don’t stop.
See yourself deserving of peace, stability, and happiness. God is more than capable of restoring you to health and healing all your invisible wounds, but it will take you participating in the process.
