A Head-To-Toe Guide to Decluttering Your Mind, Body, and Soul

2023 has come and is almost gone! As we prepare for 2024, the glow-up is very real. This is for all those who need a detox and reset in every way possible. Where should we start?

Let us begin on the inside. Starting from the inside out. We are all gardens. How we tend to ourselves is very important. Now is the perfect time to reflect on the year. Ask yourself these questions: What did 2023 teach me? What did I learn in 2023? What am I grateful for this year? Be brutally honest with yourself. This is a shame-free safe space. I pinky promise.

After reflection, write it all down.

Now we can prepare for our 2024 detox and advancement. Each new day is a chance you can start anew from where you are, right now in this present moment. Baby steps are better than going all in at once. Come let us learn together.

A human’s inner anatomy consists of three composites: spirit, soul, and, body.

Webster's Dictionary defines the spirit as “the non-phyiscal part of a person, which is the set of emotions and character; the soul.” Secondly, the soul is “the inner workings of man, an immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as an immortal.” Lastly, is the body. The body is “the physical structure of a person or animal, including the bones, flesh, and organs.”

Detoxing from within first starts with your inner self. The thought process, meaning your mind. Think positive thoughts, and positive self-talk, and then your body aligns. They all flow in unity and harmony together, like a bird humming in the spring.

Furthermore, we will discuss the five senses. The five senses are: sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.

The first sense, sight, plays a valuable role in your mind’s eye, meaning perspective, focal point. Some have also said, “It is the window to the keys to your soul”. Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine your best life right now. What does the best version of yourself look like? What do you see? Seeing unlocks your imagination. Always remember “Seeing is believing”.

The second sense is smell. The nose is a powerful detector. It increases muscle memory and calms the soul and mind. Fresh oxygen from plants and in nature helps keep you grounded. Opens up your lungs. Your body chemistry is so important when choosing perfumes, oils candles, and anything to do with aromatherapy. Leave your personal essence or presence in the world.

The third is hearing. The ears connect to your memory. Be mindful of what you listen to. Is it positive or negative? What feelings does the music, podcast, or book you listen to create inside of you? It leaves traces in your mind. Set boundaries to protect yourself conscious at all costs.

The fourth sense is taste. Taste involves everything from oral care to food, as well as style preferences. Eat healthy to your personal choice. Expand your plate to your liking, and do what is best for you. Ignore peer pressure from others. How you present yourself to the world leaves an everlasting impression. Self-discovery is always constant. Keep up your self-awareness and high self-esteem. Keep learning yourself at any age and stage in life.

The last and final sense is touch. This sense is the most valuable in my opinion because it involves our connection to each other as a human race. We are all spirit beings, we all connect through a sense of touch. Hugs, kisses, laughter, smiling, crying, soft fabrics, soft skin like a baby, and everything in between including how we meet people and create friendships and relationships. Seasonal and lifelong genuine connections. Most importantly maintaining those relationships. I am still a believer in “It takes a village.” We all still need each other in today’s world and society. Be kind, compassionate, and love up on someone today. Create a community around you and adjust as needed.

Tend to your soul (garden) and shine your light in your world. Take this piece of advice from your girl, “Make sure your soul feels it.”
